In what seems to be an incredible
coincidence, two lawmakers from
Ikorodu in the Lagos State House of
Assembly lost their fathers
yesterday.
Alhaji Solaja, father of Hon Nurudeen
Saka-Solaja, member of the state
Assembly representing Ikorodu State
Constituency 2 and Chairman of the
House Committee on Science and
Technology, died at about 3am
yesterday, at his home town, Imota.
Few hours later, Pa W. A.Agunbiade,
father of Hon Sanai Agunbiade,
Majority Leader of the House who
represents Ikorodu State Constituency
1, died at the Ikorodu General
Hospital.
According to sources from the two
families, the deceased had been buried
yesterday, Sunday, November 6, 2016,
at their various residences according
to Islamic rite. Meantime, the Speaker
of the Lagos State House of Assembly,
Mudashiru Obasa has sent his
condolences to the two members over
the deaths.
In his condolence message, yesterday,
by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr.
Musbau Razak, Obasa described the
deaths of the patriarchs of Agunbiade
and Solaja families as coming at a
time when their words of wisdom,
experience and prayers were needed
most.
According to the speaker; “However,
we must take solace in the fact that
the two men lived fulfilled lives as
exemplified by the off-springs that
survived them particularly, our own
Honourables Sanai Agunbiade and
Nurideen Saka-Solaja.”
While commiserating with the people
of Ikorodu and Imota communities in
Ikorodu Local Government, Obasa
prayed to God to give the two
communities, particularly the braved
families the grace and fortitude to
bear the irreparable loss.
