Incase your spouse deny you of s*x or
wants you to ask for it always, here are
some ways you will make her Beg for it.
1. Her Man’s Appearance
Men are usually considered to be the most
turned on by visual stimuli (think about it:
how many strip clubs and adult magazines
are actually targeted toward females?), but
women are actually quite turned on by a
man’s face, body and movement as well,
say Meston and Buss.
“S*xually, women are attracted to men with
masculine features, although not too
masculine,” Meston explains. “A little light
stubble is usually a turn-on for women if
it’s clean and well-kept. body-wise, women
generally find men with a V-shaped torso
or a high shoulder-to-hip ratio s*xually
attractive.
Motion is important, too, as women find
athletic prowess and agility to be s exual
turn-ons.” The bottom line: If you’d like to
get her in the sack, a good first step to
take might be getting yourself into the gym.
2. The Time Of Day
Meston says that women are very
individualized in terms of when they most
prefer to get it on: “In general, women want
to have s*x when they feel their best —
when they have energy, feel connected to
their partners, aren’t distracted by work or
stressful daily events, and when they feel
s*xy — and that may or may not be at
night.”
In order to figure out when a woman’s most
likely to be in the mood, pay attention to
the times she seems the most energized
and/or chilled out. Try thinking outside the
box — you may find that she’d love a post-
jog quickie right before her shower!
3. Certain Smells
Meston and Buss explain that, for women,
sense of smell is far more important than it
is to men when it comes to s exual
attraction. Simply put: if a woman doesn’t
like the way a man smells, it’s often a
deal- breaker — whether she consciously
realizes it or not.
The number one turn-off reported by most
women is — not surprisingly — bad breath,
says Buss. A woman’s sense of smell also
plays an interesting biological role in what
attracts her to a man, according to Meston:
“Olfactory signals provide a woman with a
wealth of information about a man’s
health, hygiene, and even his genetic
makeup,” she notes.
Pheromones — tiny airborne molecules that
humans emit from various glands in their
body — can influence a woman’s desire to
be s*xually intimate with a man. Male
pheromones have been shown to provide
information on a man’s symmetry, which is
an indicator of genetic fitness and
ultimately can determine whether a man is
genetically compatible with a woman. “For
many women — whether they realize it or
not — scent can play an important role in
determining her willingness to have s ex
with a man, given her ‘sense’ of whether
they can produce genetically healthy,
strong children together,” says Buss.
4. Her Guy’s Choice Of Words
Often, what a man says is more important
than what he does when he’s trying to get
a woman in the mood. “Offering
compliments is usually a sure-fire way of
making someone want to get closer…
although, if the compliments come across
as insincere, they will actually turn her off,”
says Meston. To score extra sincerity
points, make references to future activities
you’d like to do together, explains Meston,
noting that showing signs of commitment
can often be s exually alluring to women.
Buss also notes that a man with a sense of
humor is also a s exual turn- on for the
ladies: “If a man can make a woman laugh,
it relaxes her and makes her feel that he
‘gets’ her,” he says, adding that a good
sense of humor also conveys some key
qualities women want in a mate:
intelligence (it’s hard to be witty if you’re
not too bright), the ability to gauge her
emotional and social perspective (a.k.a.
having the mind-reading skills to know
what she will find amusing), and social
verve or confidence.
5. The Need For Revenge
In their research, Meston and Buss found
that many women had “revenge s*x” with
someone other than their most recent
dating partner to get back at a cheating
partner or to “even the score,” as some
women put it. “Some women hoped their ex
would find out about it and feel angry or
hurt, and other women said they didn’t care
if they found out or not — they felt better
just knowing they had gotten revenge,”
Meston explains.
Why is the need for revenge such a turn-on
for women? “Revenge can serve two basic
functions,” Buss*xplains. The first function
is one of deterrence: just as bullies stop
picking on victims who retaliate, cheating
partners sometimes stop their illicit
activities when the other person retaliates
in kind.
The second function of revenge is
“reputation management,” says Buss.
“Women who are scorned sometimes suffer
damage to their social reputation, whether
they are cheated on or dumped. Having s*x
— especially if it is with someone who is
relatively high in ‘mate value’ — can
sometimes help to restore a woman’s
reputation,” he explains.
6. Genetics
Women prefer men whose MHC genes (or
Major HistoCompatibility genes) are
dissimilar to their own, because this is the
set of genes involved in determining an
individual’s immune function. “Having
children with men who are dissimilar
produces children with healthier immune
systems,” Buss explains. “Astonishingly,
women seem to be able to pick this up
through sense of smell, especially at ovula
tion, if they are not on hormonal
contraceptives.”
7. Her Physical Health Or Well-being
If you’re looking for a few good reasons
why she should have s*with you, there are
countless ways in which you can emphasize
that “getting busy” would be a wise move
for her health. “During orgasm, opiates —
the bo dy’s natural painkillers — are
released, which can help decrease all sorts
of aches and pains for women,” Meston
explains.
S*x can also help maintain the body’s
flexibility and cardiovascular health,
decrease anxiety, and enhance overall
mood. Additionally, Meston notes, having
s*x during menstruation decreases a
woman’s risk of experiencing endometriosis
symptoms. Of course, s*x (if it lasts long
enough!) can also be a good calorie burner,
so you can always suggest it as a fantastic
way to burn off the chocolate cheesecake
you shared for dessert.
8. To Raise Her Social Status Or Sense Of
Self-esteem
In their research, Meston and Buss found
that, for some women, having s*x is more
about competition and winning (see who
went home with the good-looking guy at
the bar?). For women that do this to
compete with others and also raise their
social standing, her intended target’s social
status is a key factor in revving her libido.
“Young women who are ‘groupies,’ for
example, often compete to see who can
have s ex with the musician who has a
higher status, while Monica Lewinsky raised
her status by having an intimate
connection with the President,” Buss says.
She goes on to explain that, for women who
have s ex to raise their self-esteem, the
motivating factor is usually the need to feel
s exually desirable.
“Some women suffer from low self-esteem
and feel bad about their bo dies for a
variety of reasons, ranging from
comparisons with media models to put-
downs by their regular mates,” explains
Buss. Having s ex with a man who finds
her irresistibly hot and her bo dy incredibly
beautiful can provide a huge boost to a
woman’s self-esteem — so if you’re looking
for a little loving, make her feel like she’s
the s*xiest woman on the planet!

[Adults Only] 8 Things That Will Make Her Beg You For Séx
“I Weep Whenever I Watch My Wicked Roles In Movies” – Nollywood Actress, Patience Ozokwor
Veteran actress , Patience Ozokwor, better
known as ‘Mama Gee’ married at 19 and
enjoyed matrimony until her husband’s
ailment became nightmarish.
She lived with the grim tale for 15 years
before the man passed on in 2002.
About family, career and legacy, the Enugu-
born thespian speaks with LANRE
ODUKOYA.
Would you say there’s anything in particular
that led you into acting?
It just came naturally, you know; it’s not
like I was planning to start acting, but I
knew that already I was acting. I did a lot
of stage acting when I was younger, so you
know whatever you like doing, you’ll always
find yourself where it is done, isn’t it?
What was your earliest influence in acting?
I was always find myself in the midst of the
people who do what I love to do. When I
was on radio, I was employed as an
announcer, but I was always acting. But I
found the radio as a normal job, that if you
do something else you will be paid for it.
I enjoyed acting, there were other things I
could do, but I preferred acting. Then I
started acting in English, Pidgin English
and Igbo language.
So, after my normal work as an announcer,
I would just go over and do the other one
and then get paid. At the end of the month,
you thank God for everything, making more
money than even your salary.
Men and women of your time said that
there were certain jobs that were
considered noble; law, medicine,
engineering and or accountancy.
Did your parents give you express
permission to choose a career in acting?
My parents didn’t have any bad thoughts
about what I chose to do because
everybody knew I was inclined towards
arts. Whenever we were together, it’s a very
big family, I try to make everybody laugh, I
try to create fun for everybody and you
know I also cook.
They know if there was an occasion for the
family, I would always be found in the
kitchen, if there was a burial I would always
be found at the helm of affairs. They’d say,
let Patience (my first name is Patience) do
this, let Patience do that, because they
know that if it’s left in my care, I would do
it to the best of my knowledge.
They couldn’t tell me to go and do
medicine when they knew I was not very
good in science. My parents felt anything
you find yourself doing that is good, then
it’s always good to do it well.
They were not very educated but they were
not unexposed anyway.
What is the size of your family, I know you
have a son who owns a record label?
Well, they are all outside the country, apart
from my first son. My first son is in Nigeria,
he is into politics; my last child is playing
football and he is in training currently.
My daughter lives in the UK with her family,
the one you said is into music lives in
London. He is in London doing his business
and combining it with the one he’s doing in
Nigeria.
My adopted child is a pastor and the other
ones are fine.
How many adopted kids do you have?
I have four, one died in March, he had
blood infection and he couldn’t make it.
You didn’t say anything about your
husband…
Oh, he was a mechanical engineer, he was
a civil servant in Enugu, he was sick for a
long time, for more than 15 years and he
died, he passed on in 2002.
Oh, sorry about that. But aside preaching
the word of God, what other things are you
dedicated to?
So many things, those are the things that
as Christians we don’t mention because
the bible says that when you let out what
you are doing, your reward will be here on
earth, but if you leave it for God, he will pay
you in Heaven.
There are some things I’m doing here but
when I pass on maybe today or tomorrow
or next year or even years to come, I want
people to remember me for being a peace
maker because I hate bickering because the
bible says that you should be at peace with
your brother.
Don’t end up in court because you don’t
even know whether the judge is a Christian
or not. So the best thing is try to settle
everything with your neighbour. And the
bible also says that “blessed are the
peacemakers, for they shall be called the
sons of God”, at least to make peace
between people who are having differences.
I also love to help the poor in any way that
I can and it’s also in the bible.
I am better than a lot of widows and there
is an adage in Igbo that says, if you are
able to solve your problems alone you have
not really done anything, begin to think of
what you are able to do for people.
That way you have affected their lives and
it’s not giving them one naira, two naira
today, give them food today and tomorrow,
you employ them, you help them get
something doing.
Those are things I will be remembered for
and also in the industry, I try to teach the
younger ones. Sometimes when they want
to shoot videos and they come on set, and
they fidget because they’re working with
someone a lot more experienced.
I tell them to calm down, I try to encourage
them, you know we are all after all still
leraning at some point in our lives too. So,
I try to help everybody that comes my way,
impact their lives, I also love to listen to
people, you know if you don’t listen to
people, you hardly get to know how you can
start to help them. So, listening to people
is one very big thing.
What’s been your experience as a single
mother?
I cannot complain because God has been
faithful. You know what it means to be
married to a man who would later take ill
for 15 years? He was in and out of coma
and when you get out of coma, there’s no
way you would be as strong as you were.
So, I got quite used to doing things alone
by the help of Al-mighty God, when my
husband was even alive, his health didn’t
allow him to do much.
How do you relax when you’re not on set?
I don’t think it’s time for me to rest yet.
The only rest that I’m getting is that if I’m
not shooting, I’d just be in the house.
Fortunately for me, I was not raised
believing I have to go to Amaka’s house,
Chinelo’s house and so on. I stay at home.
I’m a food person too. I cook a lot. And I
watch a lot of my movies, mine and
others’. It’s just lately that I slowed down
on reading novels. I loved to read novels.
Are there any of your movies you’ve
watched that moved you to tears?
You want to know the one that moved me
to tears about my characters? There are
characters I’d played in movies and after
watching them back at home, I just thanked
God it wasn’t me- it was a character.
Nearly all the movies where I played wicked
roles made me cry because I remember
what that character had done to somebody.
I do these jobs to the best of my knowledge
because I want to sit down at home, watch
and cry over what I’m doing to people.
There was a movie I did many years ago, it
was titled Prophecy- what moved me to
tears in that movie was that I was so
wicked that I seized feeding bottle from the
mouth of a new-born baby who lost his
mother and I was supposed to be taking
care of the baby.
The baby was crying, I seized his feeding
bottle and threw it away. I wept profusely,
the director stopped shooting until I was
able to control myself. Then I summoned
courage to continue. If someone had done
it in real life, I would have exposed the
fellow to the world to see.
There was another one where I went to take
my sister’s daughter from the village, what
I did to the girl, if any human being can do
it to a fellow human being, I don’t know
what God would do to that person in turn.
I met her in the kitchen, beat her so much
that she fell down the stairs, rolled down
and died from broken head and pains all
over. I’d been playing wicked roles but
those two movies are exceptionally horrible.
I doubt that any human being would do
that to anyone.
Do you have anybody who is your very close
friend, the one you can ‘t go a day without
talking to?
Like I earlier told you, I’m always on my
own. But I have very good friends, it
doesn’t mean I can’t go a day or two
without them. What if the person doesn’t
want to talk to you at a particular point in
time? Chinyere Winfred and Ngozi Ezeonu
are my very good friends.
I have some who are not superstars but
who are my friends too, as I’m in London
now, I can call them and ask about what is
happening in the industry and they’d just
tell me. I have Andy Ike and Uche Nancy
who are also my friends, they call me their
mother.
When you were a young woman, what kind
of spinster were you? Were you a happy-go
lucky-girl who had the liberty to wear
trousers and socialise like most girls?
I’m from a very strict Christian home. We
were not allowed to wear trousers and I
was a member of the Christian Union. I did
things boys could do because I was
naturally a very energetic person.
I could break firewood, and do other things
but I wasn’t dressing like boys.

“God Sent Buhari To Save Nigeria From Collapse” – APC National Chairman, Oyegun
National Chairman of Nigeria’s ruling All
Progressives Congress, APC, has said God
sent President Muhammadu Buhari to save
Nigeria from collapse.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr.
Oyegun made the observation in Sokoto on
Friday when he declared open a three-day
retreat organised by the Kano State
Chapter of the party for its officials and
stakeholders on political party
management.
Mr. Oyegun said:-
Mr. Oyegun also said that the president
was being so “frugal” with every kobo that
accrued to the nation, saying that the
economy would soon bounce back.
The party national chairman said that no
sane and patriotic Nigerian would be
pessimistic about the way Mr. Buhari was
uniquely tackling corruption.
“Buhari is generally working tirelessly to
make Nigeria a better place for all
Nigerians,” he said.
”Buhari was God-sent at the
most crucial time in Nigeria’s
history.
“He inherited a comatose
economy and he has been
strenuously working to deliver

security and fighting
corruption..
“Insurgency has been tamed,
while the issues of militancy
and other related security
challenges were being diligently
attended to by the President.”
If My Husband Can’t Satisfy Me In Bed, I Will Divorce Him Immediately — Miss Tourism Nigeria
Faithfulness Kennedy made the declaration
in a chat with Potpourri of Vanguard. When
asked about her opinion on premarital sex,
she said:-
“Sex is healthy for a relationship; it
obviously builds a connection between the
partners, it builds a kind of bond and trust.
In this our modern world, everybody’s eye
is shining, imagine dating for two years
without sex (do u really love me?) Okay,
and we finally get married and then on our
honeymoon night when we are supposed to
go gaga you’re now acting like a donkey, I
will divorce you immediately!
I’m very serious, because at that point the
love has dropped. I am telling you this
because of some people that will pretend
and say they will just stay for staying sake
and have sex partners outside; my dear,
prevention is better than cure.
If we are in a relationship and you can’t
satisfy me well in bed, you are a donkey, I’ll
leave you, I don’t care if you are a
billionaire, just know if I stay I’m staying
because of your money.”
9 Reasons You Should Never Allow Your Pastor Be A Regular Visitor In Your House
Most people have idolized pastors to the
extent that they have taken the position of
God in their lives. It has been observed that
members tend to discuss their family issues
with their pastors, especially on visitation.
They tend to forget or even set boundaries
to what is being discussed with these men
of God. Truly pastors are scripturally said
to be shepherds while the members are
sheep but the place of church and its
services have been misconceived by most
church members.
Here are 9 reasons you shouldn’t condone
your pastor visiting all the time.
1. It Could Lead Pastors To Be Biased
The pastor is likely to be pleasing men
instead of rendering his selfless services to
God. He tends to speak what you want to
hear order than what God wants him to do.
2. It Takes Away From Sermon Preparation
He shouldn’t be paying visit at the time he
ought to spend quality time preparing his
sermon on what God tells him to do. This
continuous act will definitely reduce the
time for the word of God.
3. It Brings About Unhealthy Competitions/
Comparisons
This act could bring about competition
among members if the pastor visits some
members more than he does to the other.
Since humans are very difficult to please,
this will eventually result to rivalry in the
church.
4. It Takes Away Vital Leadership Role From
The Pastor
If a pastor’s visit becomes a regular habit
to the members house, he tends to lose his
position of authority. There will be sign of
disrespect to the pastor or there could be
negligence by members to what he says.
5. It Could Take Away From The Pastor’s
Outward Focus
The primary calling of a pastor is to lead
the people to the way of God. If he starts
visitation there are some family secret that
could be reveled during his visitation to
your house. You must remember that a
third party in your home must be avoided,
irrespective of the personality.
6. It Could Cause A Limitation On A Great
Growth Of The Church
Any church there is rivalry will definitely
find it hard to grow. The focus should be
on the growth of the church which can only
be achieved in a place where there is love.
Once there is a fault from the leader, the
followers will also be affected. Pastors are
to do the work of ministry.
7. It Could Cause Pision In The Church
Like the scripture says if the foundation is
faulty what can the righteous do? This is
the case once a supposed leader is the
pioneer of pision among members through
his visitation. Since it is not possible to
please everyone at the same time, he is
likely to start a crack in the member’s
relationship.
8. It Causes Fag-out In Pastors
The work of the gospel is not a work for
one, that is why some are pastors, apostles
and they are to work together to strengthen
the work of the ministry. If a pastor
therefore makes visitation his priority, he
will be easily stressed in strength, physical
appearance and spiritual life.
9. It Is A Sign That The Church Is Dying
Regular visit from your pastor is a writing
on the wall that you should leave that
church because it is heading towards
destruction. You can’t hear the truth from
a dying church. The pastor will only be of
service to man and not God again. He
preaches what you want him to preach.
Lady Evangelist Arrested For Using Kids For Street Begging In Ikorodu Lagos
The officials of Lagos State Police Command
have rescued 11 children used for street
begging by a church in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
As a result, a female evangelist with the
church has been arrested and is being
interrogated at the police headquarters, Ikeja
.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai
Owoseni who paraded the suspects yesterday
said the lid was blown off when two of the
under aged children were seen begging for
arms.
Owoseni said detectives after interviewing the
children, stormed the church premises where
others were rescued and one Lois Antinso
was arrested. The CP said the church was
being investigated to know its involvement in
using the children for slavery.
The suspect, Atinso said
“I am attached to the church. I am an
Evangelist in the church. We run an
orphanage/less privileged home at Agbede
road, Ikorodu. We care for the poor, needy,
orphan, widow, destitute and abandoned. All
support funds are paid to the church’s
account.
“I was shocked when the Bishop of the church
came to the police to deny me. We go out
three times, a month to beg for assistance. It
is not as if I leave the children to go on their
own. I am saying that the children are too
small to speak. The police interrogated them
and they started talking as if I allow them to
go alone. The day I was arrested I was taking
two of the children, nine and 10 to the bank
to teach them how to use ATM. It was not as
if I took them out for begging”
One of the children, Nnoso said
“We were begging when the police picked us.
We used to go for begging three times a
week. People used to give us alms, food
items, clothes, shoes and money. We used to
hand over the things to Aunty.
“I came to Lagos in company with one of my
aunties .She took me to the church and
handed me over to the aunty in the church.
My aunty in the church warned that whenever
my mother called from the village, I should
tell her that I am alright and that I must not
tell her that I am in the church. Each time
my mummy called, I used to tell her that I
was with my real aunty that brought me from
Imo state to Lagos.”
My Pastor Sent Me a Photo of His Manh00d on WhatsApp – Man Confesses
A man has told a shocking story about how
his pastor shocked him with an unbelievable
action recently.
The man shared his story on yoanswer, a
relationship site.
According to him, his pastor accidently sent
him a photo of his manhood on WhatsApp.
Needless to say, this development has
shocked him totally.
Below is how he told the story:
**********************
I am a man aged 23 and devout a Christian.
Last week Wednesday I received a WhatsApp
image from my church pastor with the
caption, ‘Tonight this is yours’.
The image was of the pastor in front of a
mirror n*ked while holding his p*nis.
What worried me is that the pastor’s wife
passed away three weeks ago from an
accident. As soon as he realised his mistake,
my pastor phoned me and was apologising
profusely. I told him forgiveness is for God
and not me. He went away.
Today at church he was preaching and I
could see he was super nervous.
After church he asked to speak to me and he
offered me a position in church or if I want
he would give me money. he said he is
willing to give me lots of money.
I do not know what to do now. I still have the
image in my phone. One thought is telling me
to delete the photo and hope the pastor
learns from his wicked ways. The other is
telling me to take the money.
I am also deliberating to leve the church and
go fellowship elsewhere or to just expose him
for what he truly is.
“I lived in the bush for a year to avoid ‘witch killers’- 6 year old Israel Effiong disturbing story
Many stigmatized ‘Witch Children’ have
found refuge at Child’s Rights and
Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) center, in
Akwa Ibom. The children were branded as
“witches” by their families, cast out, and
shunned by society.
One of them is six-year-old Israel Effiong,
from Ikot Uso Ekong, Eket, who was accused
of being responsible for his father’s sickness.
Brutally tortured and beaten, driven from his
home and made an outcast in his community,
he was forced by the so called ‘witch killers’
to run away and hide in a bush for a year,
eating scraps from the market, before he was
rescued by Edoho, a volunteer with the
organisation.
Read his disturbing story below.
“My name is Israel Effiong, from Ikot Uso
Ekong, Eket. When my father became ill and
taken to a hospital, my stepmom asked if I
knew anything about his illness. I told her
that I could not think of anything bad about
my father because he’s the supporting me.
“When his illness took a turn for the worst,
my stepmom became angry with me.
In the nights, she’ll wake me up, tie my
hands and legs then poured wild ants all over
my body while asking me to relieve my dad
from the witches coven. At times she would
tie my hand and legs, began to hit my heads
with sticks and electrical wires.
She stopped giving me food and locked me
out of the house. I went and told the
neighbors living close to us. She said she
could not allow me to stay with her because
my stepmother will be angry with her.
“The people living around us began to hate
me and asked not to come close to their
children. I went and slept in the village town
hall. One night, some men came and saw me
there, they brought me out and asked me to
dance as witches. When I told them that I
didn’t know witches dance, they used sticks
and matches to beat me. A man who was
passing by came and told them not kill me.
They left me and warned me not come there
again. I went and stayed in a bush and be
coming out in the night to pick up leftover
from the market garbage
“One day, I was tired and slept off in the
market, a boy by name Edoho came and saw
me there and told me he would come back
and take me to a safe place where other
children like me are living. I told him where I

Drama as kidnappers release victims, Abduct those who came to drop ransom
For members of a notorious kidnap gang
operating in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State
capital, nothing could go wrong, but
Wednesday, October 12, 2016 was the day
the long arm of the law caught up with them
The nine members of the gang, who were
apprehended by the operatives of the
Inspector-General of Police Special
Intelligence Response Team in a five-hour
raid that day, said they were so efficient in
their criminal operations that they once
kidnapped four victims on the same day.
The afternoon raid led to the arrest of Daniel
Gabriel (33), Alaso Igodo (25), Akeodi
Aselemi (34), Ayibinmotei Livinus (25),
Anikuroka Marshal (33), Biebele Elijah (34)
Efiye Anda (34), Daniel Lessor (31) and Isaac
Reuben (27), all living within the Port
Harcourt metropolis.
The police said the gang was responsible for
most of the kidnappings that took place
within GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt, Borokiri
General Area and YKC axis of Woji in Rivers
State.
It Was learnt that the string of events which
led to the apprehension of the nine suspects
started with the abduction of a woman
identified as Mrs. Okotie, who was kidnapped
few weeks ago opposite the Royal House of
Grace Church in Port Harcourt.
The gang was said to have abducted her in
the Mazda car they used as operational
vehicle.
The victim told the police that she had told
the suspects that she was not feeling fine but
they did not listen to her.
Fortunately for Mrs. Okotie, the car broke
down along the way and the leader of the
gang named Blackie, called for another
vehicle, a Nissan Primera, which arrived
shortly after.
“But they did not know that we had got
information about them. They were on their
way to the Ornage Waterside when we
intercepted them. As soon as they saw us,
they fled and abandoned the woman in the
car along with one of their rifles,” the source
said.
Few days after the botched kidnapping of
Mrs. Okotie, IRT operatives who were
following up on a lead, arrested Gabriel, a
taxi driver, around 2.pm on October 12.
When Gabriel, an Akwa-Ibom indigene living
at Navy Market Borikiri, Port-Harcourt was
taken in for questioning, he confessed that he
had personally been involved in 15 kidnaps in
the last few months in the state.
He then led the police to his house where five
members of the gang were already planning
another kidnap.
“When we got to his house, we arrested five
of his gang members and from there, we
proceeded to Enugu Waterfront where we
arrested Anikuroka Marshal, the gang’s
armourer. The suspects also identified
Diobele Elijah and Akodi Aselemi as their
spies who go around town scouting for
victims. They confessed to have three AK47
rifles, two pistols, which they use in their
operations,” a police source said.
it was learnt that in one of the kidnaps
carried out by the gang, on August 10, 2016,
a pastor, Mrs. Luis Ubah and one Mr. Chika
Ezenwa were abducted. The same day, the
gang kidnapped a business woman, Mrs.
Ubah in her store, they also grabbed another
victim identified as Ezenwa who was with
Ubah at the time.
The four victims were taken by the gang to
the Indoki Estate Waterfront.
The source explained that while on their way
to the waterfront, the gang encountered a
police team and instantly opened fire on the
policemen.
“Inspector David Ijosi and one Corporal Dike
Ledee were injured by bullets in the attack.
One was hit in the leg while another was hit
in the neck and the kidnappers escaped into
the Isaka creeks in Okrika,” the source said.
Soon after, the gang made contact with
Ubah’s husband, Bishop Prince Ubah, from
whom they demanded a N50m ransom for her
freedom.
During the ensuing negotiation, the ransom
for the release of the bishop’s wife was
reduced to N2.8m and a place was agreed on
for the family to drop the ransom.
But in a dramatic turn of events, when two
brothers of the bishop, Onyeka Ani and
Pastor Okezie Akara, took the money to the
agreed place on August 25, 2016, 15 days
after Mrs. Ubah was kidnapped, the gang
members decided to release her along with
Ezenwa but kidnapped the two brothers
instead.
The police said they then demanded another
N1m ransom from the bishop for his
brothers. But N750, 000 was eventually paid
for their release.
Police investigation also showed that in
August 2016, the gang kidnapped one Nkechi
at YKC Junction in Woji Town, Port Harcourt,
and she was transported to the Woji
Waterfront where they ferried her by
speedboat to Kula community in Akukotoru
Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The woman was reportedly kept in captivity
for two weeks and was released after a
ransom of N2m was paid by her family.
In September, a victim identified as Coachie,
who was abducted around Number One
Stadium, Port Harcourt, was released after a
ransom of N2.5m was paid.
In his statement, Gabriel explained that he
came to Port Harcourt in 2015 and worked as
a taxi driver but when things became difficult
for him, he moved his family back home and
joined his first kidnapping gang.
He said, “I met the members of the gang in
March 2016. I was plying the Aba Road
looking for passengers one day when they
stopped me and entered my taxi. They asked
me to take them to Borikiri in Port Harcourt.
“When we got there, I was surprised that they
paid me more than I demanded and I told
them that I wanted to know more about
them. The leader who sat in front passenger
seat then gave me his phone number and
said he would like me to work with them.
“Few days later, they invited me to a hotel in
Borikiri and told me what they did. In April,
Blackie, the gang leader, called and asked
that I should meet him in his hotel. When I
got there, I met other members of the gang
preparing for an operation. They showed me
two bags containing guns and put it in my
car. I then drove them to GRA in Port
Harcourt.
“When we got there, the gang’s informant
said we had missed the target, a woman, who
had just left the place. While leaving, we saw
a man driving a nice car and we kidnapped
him. He was taken to the Indoki Estate
Waterfront. We put him in a speed boat and
took him to a camp across the river.”
Gabriel said they carried out many
kidnappings and that in August 2016, when
they kidnapped Mrs. Okotie, it was like God
just wanted them to be caught.
According to him, he had no idea what
happened to his car, which he converted from
a taxi cab to the gang’s operational vehicle.
“When we were intercepted by the police that
day, we left one gun in the car while escaping
while Blackie escaped with one other rifle. He
gave it to one of our boys, who normally kept
our rifles. But after I was arrested, I took the
police to the boy and they recovered the rifle
and my cab,” he said.
However, in his confessional statement, Anda,
a speed boat operator, said he got N200,000
each time he ferried the kidnappers and their
victims to their camps across the river in his
speed boat.
The suspect, a Bayelsa State indigene, said
he was involved in pipeline vandalism and oil
theft before the military destroyed the camps
in which they “cook” the oil, referring to the
numerous makeshift oil refineries that dot
creeks where oil militants operate in the
country.
“When I became jobless, my friends invited
me to Port Harcourt to join the kidnapping
business. I became their boat operator. Apart
from the transport duty, I was also in charge
of buying food for the gang members and the
victims. I bought a speed boat with the
money I have made so far,” Anda said.
Marshal (the gang’s armourer) on the other
hand, said he was paid N40,000 per each
operation.
The suspect, who is an indigene of Opobo-
Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State,
said he usually kept the guns in an
abandoned bus parked inside the Baptist
Church field in Borokiri.
“I did not usually go out with them for the
operations. My job is to keep the guns,” he
said.
Another suspect, Elijah, a native of Okrika in
Rivers State, said he was lured to the gang
by his boss, whom he identified as Elvis.
According to him, his role was to assist Elvis
to monitor the movement of their targets.
“There was a time I followed Elvis three times
to spy on a woman we wanted to kidnap. We
could not carry out the operation because
our leader, Blackie did not come on time. I
was also with him in GRA where we
kidnapped the woman who was rescued by
the police. Elvis had only been giving me
little money since I started working with him.
But he loved to buy me a lot of drinks,” he
said.
The police said investigation on the scale of
the operations of the gang was still on and
that they were making efforts to arrest other
members of the gang who are now
underground.

See The Bishop That Was Jailed For Raping & Impregnating 17-Year-Old Girl, Couldn’t Recite Common Bible Verses In Court
A self-proclaimed Zimbabwean Bishop, who
with his brother raped and impregnated a
17-year-old congregant at their church has
been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
41-year-old Bishop Andrew Mnkandla and
his brother Lovemore, 34, a pastor at the
church, held the victim hostage at his
house and raped her on different
occassions. They threatened that if she told
anyone, “the demons they had exorcised
from her would return with scores of others
to haunt her.
The court heard he went to the teen’s
mother with his wife and tried to bribe her
so that she convinces her daughter to
change her statement in court. Mnkandla
had pleaded not guilty to multiple counts
of rape before magistrate Chrispen
Mberewere.
The court was shocked when Mnkandla
failed to recite four common Bible verses.
Mr Mberewere asked Mnkandla to recite
Genesis 1 verse 1, Psalms 23 verse 1, John
3 verse 16 and John 14 verse 1.
He drew laughter from the gallery when he
said John 3 verse 16 reads:
“Let your hearts not be troubled,” but it
actually reads: “For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life.”
‘Oh well bishop, it looks like the Bible is
giving you a hard time,” said Mr
Mberewere. “You can’t even recite very
common verses familiar to many people.
Let’s just get back to the business that
brings you here, that of bedroom issues,
because you seem to be better in that
department.”
The magistrate convicted Mnkandla and
sentenced him to 20 years in jail. In her
testimony, the teen had said Lovemore
raped her at Khami Mountains and
Mnkandla raped her at his house.
“We went to the mountains for seven days
with my father and Lovemore. My father
was called back to work on the fourth day,
leaving me with Lovemore. On our way
home he dragged me into a nearby bush
and raped me. He told me if I told anyone,
all the demons would return,” she said.
“Mnkandla came to our house and asked
me to go to his house where he raped me
twice. The first time he wore a condom. On
another occassion he held me hostage in
his house the whole night. My mother came
to look for me at his house while I was in
his bedroom but he denied knowledge of
my whereabouta. He told me to escape
through the back door and wait for him at
a football pitch close by. He came to get
me later and instructed me to tell my father
that I had spent the night at a school
gate.” she added.

job.italy
“I had no choice, I had no choice, I had to
pay him… I was like a prisoner,” Victoria

I Caught My Boyfriend Having S*X With His Own Mother In Their Home, What Can I Do? – Young Lady Confesses
A young lady has shared a weird story
about her boyfriend’s unbelievable s*xual
involvement with his own mother in their
home.
The young woman shared her bizarre story
online, shocking readers with it.
According to her, she recently walked in on
her boyfriend having s*x with his own
mother.
This development, needless to say, has left
her totally devastated.
Below is how she put the story:
**************************************
I am completely traumatized right now. I
can’t even think straight. Oh God!!!
My boyfriend has given me the worst shock
of my entire life and I feel like just passing
out. I can’t handle this.
I’ll try to be short. My boyfriend is 25 years
old and I am 23. We’ve been dating for
about 2 years now.
I used to go to his home all the time and
meet with his mother. My boyfriend’s father
is late so he has only his mother whom he
is so close to.
I have always noticed that my boyfriend
and his mother are very fond of each other.
Sometimes, when I visit him, I would see
him lying down with his head on his
mother’s laps. I used to joke about it and
even call him “mummy’s boy” and he will
just laugh out.
Now fast forward to two days ago. I paid
my boyfriend a surprise visit and what I
saw threw me off guard. I just could not
believe what I was seeing.
When I came into the house, I walked
straght to his room since that was where
we normally met. It was there I I saw my
boyfriend n*ked on his bed and on top of
his own mother. He was having s*x with
her.
I screamed his name and almost fainted.
They two of them were shocked when they
saw me. I just ran out.
My boyfriend has been calling me since
then and sending text messages about him
being seduced and all that. But I’m so
devastated right now. I don’t even want to
think about it.
O my God. What do I do?? This man is the
first love of my life.

Scholarship board screens 10,000 for 2016/17 award
The Kebbi State Scholarship Board has
concluded arrangements to screen 10,000
indigent applicants for 2016/2017 scholarship
award.
Dr. Sahabi Yauri, the Executive Secretary of
the board, told the News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
Yauri said the exercise would commence next
week and will last for one month.
He said it was mandatory for prospective
applicants to present original copies of their
credentials, admission letters and indigene
certificates.
He warned them against the use of proxy to
avoid impersonation and other related
dubious acts.
Yauri commended the state government for
regular payment of tuition and registration
fees of students studying in tertiary
institutions nationwide, and urged them to
reciprocate the gesture.
NAN reports that the government recently
settled backlog of N1billion tuition and
registration fees of its students studying
within and outside the country.
Students beg Amosun to pay teachers to enable them return to school
Some students in public primary and
secondary schools in Ogun on Thursday
called on Ibikunle Amosun, governor of
the state, to attend to the demands of
striking workers in the state.
The students, who spoke in Abeokuta,
capital of the state, described the strike
as “very unfortunate”.
Samson Asade, an SSS 2 student of
African Church Grammar School,
Abeokuta, called for early resolution of
the crisis.
He said his colleagues in private schools
were already ahead, urging the
government to cooperate with the workers
to end the strike.
“I am not happy with the strike, our
teachers too are not happy. That is why
am appealing to the government to find a
lasting solution to this crisis as soon as
possible,” he said.
“The private schools are already ahead of
us and when we resume our teachers will
be rushing us so as to cover the syllabus
and this is not too good for our
education.”
Another student, Ife Salako of Catholic
Comprehensive High School in Abeokuta,
said the strike would expose some of the
students to activities that could destroy
their future.
Salako appealed to both the government
and labour unions to reach concrete
agreements and put an end to the strike.
Ajobiewe Hammed, an SSS 1 student of
African Church Grammar School, said
labour unions should look for other
means to press home their demands
rather than downing tools.
“The unions should always look for other
means to press home their demands
instead of going on strike all the time
because the strike will affect the students
more,” Hammed said.
“Government should not toy with the
welfare of civil servants; they have
families too that they feed every day.
“We want government to give them their
cooperative deductions, gratuities,
salaries and I pray that God should help
the governor to deliver on his promises.”
Students from other primary schools said
they were optimistic that the strike would
soon be over.
Workers in Ogun, under the aegis of Joint
National Public Service Negotiating
Council, embarked on indefinite strike on
October 20 over government’s failure to
meet their demands.

Oil Money Still Our Practical Key Out Of Recession - Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari says
Nigeria’s practical key out of economic
recession still lies in monies made from
the country’s oil and gas sector.
Speaking at the launch of the ministry of
petroleum #7BigWins initiative in Abuja
on Thursday, Buhari said oil proceeds are
needed to lay a solid foundation for a
diversified economy.
“The Petroleum industry remains critical
to the Nigerian economy of today and the
future, despite our current challenges,”
Buhari said.
“The golden era of high oil prices may not
be here now, but Oil and Gas resources
still remain the most immediate and
practical keys out of our present
economic crisis.
“Oil and Gas still remain a critical enabler
for the successful implementation of our
budget as well as the source of funds for
laying a strong foundation for a new and
more diversified economy.”
He said “as important as it is to ensure
that Agriculture, Solid minerals and other
critical sectors of the economy are,” the
country still needs “a virile and efficient
oil & gas industry to take care of our
foreign exchange requirements”.
“This Roadmap reflects the vision and
aspiration of this Administration for this
sector and I urge you all to deliver on the
expectations contained in the Petroleum
Industry Roadmap. This is a national
imperative and a core thrust of our
economic policy.”
Buhari restated his resolve to restoring
peace to the Niger-Delta, and enabling
sustainable reforms in the oil and gas
sector.
“Therefore, the task before the Ministry of
Petroleum Resources is to maximize the
potentials and opportunities across the
whole range of the Oil and Gas industry to
stimulate our economy in spite of the
current challenges.
“To do this certainly requires creativity,
innovation, technology and robust
partnership amongst various
stakeholders.
“There is also a dire need to instill a new
culture of transparency and efficiency in
the industry, streamline operations along
best practices by championing and
implementing strategic reforms at every
layer of the industry.
“This will help us improve oil and gas
production, explore our frontier basins,
improve our local refining capacity and
above all build sustainable partnerships
with the oil producing communities.
“If we are able to plug the leakages, and
tighten loose systems that characterized
this industry in the days of high oil prices,
we are convinced that we can do even
more with the little that we are getting at
the moment than we did even in the time
of plenty.
“As you are aware, recent developments in
the Niger Delta have temporarily limited
our oil and gas production and supplies.
However, let me reaffirm that, whatever
challenges we are currently facing in the
region, our resolve and capability to work
with all stakeholders to restore normalcy
will guarantee success.”

“We have been taught to strive for
excellence in all we do. We have equally
acquired the ability to adapt and excel even
in the face of difficult situations.

the school as Yaba College of ‘Tension’, but
today, I say it is a college of excellence,’’
Ayebiwo said in her valedictory speech.
“We have learnt from our great lecturers not
only to excel academically but also to be
worthy in character. Today we can raise our

Despite both players being caught up in the La
Liga title battle, Godin was quick to laud
praise on his compatriot for a job well done.
“He’s the best No. 9 in the world, the best
striker,” Godin told ESPN. “It is very difficult to
mark him, since we always come up against
each other.
“He is very crafty, has great movement in the
area and is an extremely complicated attacker
to defend against.”
Suarez will have a chance to add more goals
to his impressive tally when Barcelona
entertain Granada on Sunday at the Camp

Court remands pastor in prison for allegedly turning abducted girls into sex slaves
A Makurdi Magistrates’ Court on Thursday
remanded a cleric, Elijah Ebimone, in prison
for allegedly abducting three girls and turning
them into sex slaves.
Ebimone, 32, is facing a two-count charge of
abduction and causing miscarriage,
punishable under Sections 274 and 233 of the
Penal Code, Laws of Benue State, 2004.
The Magistrate, Mrs Theresa Wergba, ordered
the remand of the accused and adjourned the
matter till Dec. 28 for further mention.
Her action followed the application for
adjournment made by the Prosecutor,
Inspector Daniel Suende, who said that
investigation by the police was ongoing.
Suende told the court that a team of
detectives led by Inspector Attai Sule,
attached to the State CID, Makurdi, received
information about the activities of the cleric
on Oct. 20.
He said that the detectives immediately
launched an investigation into the matter and
arrested the accused.
The prosecutor said that Ebimone, who
claimed to be a prophet, had been abducting
young girls and using them as sex slaves.
He said that the cleric went all the way to
Delta last June and abducted one Victory
Mieturda, Dolor Dinah and Esther Young and
brought them to Makurdi.
Suende said that the man had deceived the
girls’ parents into believing that he was
assisting the girls to travel to Ukraine to seek
greener pasture.
“However, they got to Makurdi and he turned
them into sex slaves impregnating all of them
at different times and also causing them to
miscarry the pregnancies,’’ the prosecutor
said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports
that when the case was called, the court did
not take the plea of the accused because it
lacked jurisdiction.
Why Sex Is Painful Sometimes
An Abuja-based gynaecologist, Dr. Charles
Anoti, said on Thursday that infections and
pelvic tumours are the major causes of
dyspareunia.
Dyspareunia is pain during or after sexual
intercourse due to medical or psychological
issues.
Anoti told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja
that development of a membrane that blocks
the vaginal opening could also contribute to
the health challenge.
He said the pain could be on the external
surface of the genital or in the pelvis if
pressured against the cervix.
The expert said that knowing the exact
location and nature of the pain could help in
identifying its cause and management.
Anoti, however, identified infections that affect
the labia, vagina, as well as lower urinary
tract as factors that could also cause pain
during sexual intercourse.
He said that problems associated with
childbirth such as the absence of a fully-
formed vagina could be a risk factor to the
development of dyspareunia.
Anoti also said that oestrogen deficiency, pain
from bladder irritation, tumours such as
ovarian cyst and fibroid, could also cause
painful sexual intercourse.
He said that tissue injury, such as pain from
surgery or vaginal birth, could also be the
cause of dyspareunia.
Anoti told NAN that endometriosis, interstitial
cystitis, and ectopic pregnancy could pose a
risk of developing the condition.
The physician said that pelvic adhesion and
scaring, inflammation of the genital area and
some medical treatments could cause the
condition.
He said that vaginal dryness and thickened
vaginal hymen also pose the risk to the
development of the condition.
Anoti, however, attributed stress, anxiety and
history of sex abuse as psychological factors
that could contribute to painful sexual
intercourse.
He said that prevention of dyspareunia starts
from knowing the underlying cause, adding
that those with history of sexual abuse should
seek help from a specialist.
Anoti said that decreasing the risk of yeast
infection and applying good hygiene are
important to preventing the condition.
He suggested the use of cotton underpants as
well as changing of underclothes after
prolonged sweating as measures to help
prevent the condition.
The physician also recommended the use of
condoms to protect against sexually
transmitted diseases to prevent the condition.
Anoti also advised women to urinate after sex
to help prevent the condition and to wipe from
front to back after using the toilet to avoid
bladder infection.
The physician advised those with the
condition to see their doctors to get the right
prescription of medications.
He also suggested the use of over-the-counter
lubricant as well as antifungal drugs to treat
yeast infections.
He advised women with endometriosis and
pelvic mass to seek surgical treatment in their
efforts to overcome the condition.
Anoti also advised women to ensure adequate
arousal before sexual intercourse, saying it
was key to drastically minimising chances of
painful sexual intercourse.

EFCC arraignes Graduate Accused of $900 Fraud In Benin
A 29-year-old graduate of the Delta State
University, Victor Okunmwendia, on Thursday
appeared in a Federal High Court, Benin,
charged with a 900 dollar fraud.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr
Wilson Uwujaren, Head of Media and Publicity
of the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC), and made available to
the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Uwujaren said that the accused, who was
arraigned by the commission before Justice
Patricia Ajoku , was charged on a three-count
of fraud and obtaining money by false
pretence.
He said the accused pleaded not guilty to the
charges.
Counsel to the commission, M.T. Iko, told the
court that the accused presented himself as
Sister Julia Imoke, founder and Coordinator of
Happy Home Orphanage, Benin, to extort
money from unsuspecting persons.
The persecutor said Okunmwendia conspired
with others, now at large, to obtain the sum of
900 U.S. dollars from one Ada K., a female.
Iko alleged that the accused got the money
through Western Union Money Transfer under
the guise that he was Imoke, the founder and
coordinator of the “fictitious orphanage”.
He said the alleged offence was contrary to
Section 1(1) (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and
Other Related Offences Act, 2006, and
punishable under Section 1(3) of the same
law.
After the accused took his plea, Iko asked the
court to fix a date for trial and to remand the
defendant in prison custody.
Attempt by the defence counsel, Osman
Idehen, to move a bail application was refused
by the court.
The presiding judge adjourned the case till
Nov. 16 for trial and ordered that the
defendant be remanded in prison custody.
This Mom Died With Her Unborn Child: See What Happened Next
Melanie’s pregnancy was normal so there
was no reason for her to think her delivery
would be like this! On July 28, 2010 her life
would change forever. And praise God, His
hands and angels were on the scene. Read
how the love and support and prayers from
her husband, alongside God’s grace and love
delivered both mom and baby home safely.
Read Melanie and Doug’s story about
bringing little Gabriella into this world and
saving mom’s life. It’s truly a God moment!!
Per Melanie: On July 28, 2010, I delivered my
child in the maternity ward of one hospital,
only to wake up days later in the ICU of
another hospital across town, not knowing
how I had even gotten there. Shocked, I sat
and listened as my family told what had
taken place during the past three days. I
tried to recall them. But I had no memory. I
drew a blank.
The following is a story handed down to me
from my husband and many others about my
untimely death and miraculous survival.
Code Blue
While I was in the hospital preparing to
deliver my baby girl after 39 long weeks, I
signaled to the nurse that something was
wrong. I was light-headed and felt somewhat
nauseous. I felt as though I was going to
pass out. The nurse attempted to reposition
me and try to determine the cause of my
light-headedness. There was no indication
from my vitals that something was amiss.
Then I slumped to my side, apparently
having what seemed like a mild seizure. My
husband, who was standing at the end of the
bed, witnessed my heart rate and blood
pressure flash zero on my monitors. Our
unborn child’s heart rate began to plummet
precipitously. My skin had turned a deep
blue. I was not breathing and had no heart
rate. I had suffered cardiac arrest. I was
clinically dead, and my baby was still inside
of my body.
Doctors signaled code blow Code Blue and a
team of staff whisked me to the operating
room (OR). My husband later told me that he
prayed in these words:
“God, I know that this is more than I can
handle, which means you have a plan and a
purpose in this, and I trust you; but please, if
it is your will, allow me to hold my wife
again.” He said he has never felt more
helpless and afraid in all his life.
By now family and friends had begun to
congregate and they all grabbed hands and
began to pray. Soon after they began to text,
email, Tweet, and post statuses on Facebook,
asking people to pray for me. The domino
effect began to happen. By the end of that
day, I was the number one Googled person in
Phoenix and one of the top 100 people
Twittered about, as the prayer requests went
viral.
In the OR, doctors worked feverishly to save
both me and my unborn child. Miraculously,
we both survived this initial insult.
After our baby was delivered via C-section,
my husband went to see our daughter in the
nursery, not knowing if I was dead or alive.
As he wiped the tears from his face, the
nurses asked him the baby’s name.
“Gabriella,” he replied, the “heroine of God.”
A nurse told my husband that after
repeatedly using the defibrillator and
beginning CPR they had been able to get a
faint heartbeat. I had been without oxygen or
a pulse for around 10 minutes. They spent
over an hour and a half trying to resuscitate
me.
The head of the ICU told those gathered that
I had likely experienced an amniotic fluid
embolism (AFE), which is usually fatal. The
doctors had stabilized me but did not believe
I would survive and encouraged my family to
say their ‘goodbyes.’
My husband came to my bedside. He took
hold of my hand and said: “I love you; I will
always love you. Brady and Gabriella are
beautiful and love you. If you have any fight
left, then fight. Despite my hopes, promise
me that you will follow your guardian angel
wherever he leads you. Where he leads you
will be where God needs you.”
From there things went from extremely bad
to worse. I received two blood transfusions
and was going into DIC, a condition of erratic
blood clotting. While performing the
emergency C-section doctors had
accidentally cut an artery, so they had to
perform another emergency surgery to stop
the bleeding.
Miraculously, I survived this surgery as well,
but because the doctors found five liters of
blood in my abdomen, they had to pack down
my belly (simply put, they stuffed my belly
full of towels to compress the bleeding). As a
result, they could not close my abdomen, so I
was still open with an increased risk for
infection for over 12 more hours.
Because of the heart failure, my “ejection
fraction” was only 5% (normal is between
55% and 65%). Basically my heart was barely
pumping. My lungs had failed and a
respirator was breathing for me at 100%. I
was still unconscious and doctors thought
that even if I did survive I would be
neurologically impaired. I was transferred to
another hospital an hour away in extreme
critical condition. This hospital had an ECMO
machine, which works for the heart and
lungs.
Our friend, who is also the priest that
witnessed our vows at our wedding, was with
my husband at the second hospital. He said
to Doug, “Wow, when you got married, this is
what you said ‘yes’ to. For better or for
worse; in sickness and in health.”
The doctors at the new hospital wanted to
perform another surgery to remove the
packing from my open abdomen and stitch
me up. But just before doing this, they
withheld some of the sedation to more
accurately assess my neurological state.
As Doug entered my room with my sister, he
saw that my eyes were open and looking
around. “Hey babe,” he said, without
hesitation. I turned and he looked at me and
my eyes began to well up with tears. It was
clear to him that I was neither brain-dead
nor impaired.
Worried that I may not make it through the
operation, they showed me a photo of
Gabriella. I began to cry. Momma bear must
have come out, because I began to twist and
turn to get out of my bed. They sedated me
once more and wheeled me off to surgery.
For the first time my family felt some
optimism, even though the odds of my
surviving the surgery were slim.
However, the surgery was successful, and
from that point a miraculous recovery began
to unfold. Within the next 24 hours, I was
weaned off of all medications, except for pain
medication. I was breathing on my own.
Doug entered my room and sat next to me.
He tells me that I touched his face and said,
“Hey babe, how are you?” He laughed and
kissed my hand and cried.
He said he cried for joy and thanked God for
this grace. I Praise Him!
Although I have no memory of this incredible
event in my life, I am grateful to be alive and
to hold my husband and children in my arms
daily. I am thankful for every Facebook post,
Tweet, and articles written and posted, who
reached out and asked others to pray for me,
a stranger.
Words cannot express my gratitude for the
multitude of prayers that covered me
throughout this traumatic event. I am happy
to say, the prayers worked! Thanks to the
hands of doctors, nurses, many blood donors,
and an ever-merciful God, Gabriella and I are
alive and well and I have made a full
recovery.
It has been almost four years, and there isn’t
a day that goes by that I don’t thank the
Lord for allowing me to survive something
very few live to talk about.
I thank the Lord for inspiring me to choose a
pro-life hospital. I thank God for allowing
Doug, Brady, Gabriella, and me to be a family
again and for allowing me another
opportunity to speak of God’s infinite grace,
mercy, and love for all of us.
God has the power to take us from the
depths of darkness, even the darkness of
death, and bring us to the light, and for that,
I praise Him!
